Just a reminder that Cruiser Outfitters is always a fun place to visit. Also, that 200 series look great next to their older brethren, if properly equipped.

I need to post a pic of Blue Ridge Rover Works near here some time. There’s usually a mix of about 20 Series and Range Rover Classics and P38s on the premises.

I love going to places like that, so much excellence in one place.

Driving back from the cottage in Tuesday, I spotted a house with what looked to be over ten Porsche 924/944's in the back yard.

Maybe I’ll make sure to stage the photo so some hoods are open and there are some in pic with their tops off. #RamblinHefner

Too cool, is that a dude’s house? This is why I like visiting GoWesty, though having a Vanagon problem is much worse than having a Landcruiser problem.

yeah, its his house. He’s got a big shed in back but its his residence. I’m thinking he’s going to outgrow it here really soon though.

Looks that way, he must have some pretty cool neighbors.

I....wonder. I parked in his driveway just to make sure I was pushing the limits

The 200series will always be a yupi mobile, just because the name it a land cruiser doesnt mean is worthy, now the 70series even stock, its a great off roader
![]() 05/26/2016 at 15:28 |

false. The 100 series was a yuppie mobile too, so was the 80, so was the 60. The 200 can still kill it.

Something missing when you dont have a clutch pedal, solid axles, removable roof, who needs leather and downhill control off road!
![]() 05/26/2016 at 15:39 |

I think you are looking too far into the past. My 80 series doesn’t have a clutch, or a removable roof (neither do the 70 series) and it has leather and it does me just fine. The 200 in the middle photo is owned by the guy who runs this shop and it gets WORKED.

Agree, i can only look back, but i think the people that pay $40 grand for an fj40 tend to agree with me. A lot can be said for being confortable, no argument on that end. But imagine if the fj cruiser had offered front solid axle and removable roof, a true competitor to the Wrangler, not the 2door 4Runner.

Now I do agree that the FJC was a wasted opportunity, but I can tell you that the FJ40 prices aren’t because they are better machines...its because of nostalgia and fashion. No one drops 40 grand on a 40 series and then wheels it.

Waiting for the day those people get tired of the wheel barrel ride, and their prices come down again. A guy could dream, for now ill stick to my yj & tj

yeah, 40 prices aren’t going anywhere sadly. 60 prices are on the rise too, better snatch those up while you can.
